Welcome to the Hume Vets Cycling Club
The Hume Veterans Cycling Club Inc. was established in late 1996 with its first race held in March 1997. The 44km handicap road race was held at Tatong and was supported by its then 18 members with the winner - scratch rider - Ray Jarratt.
The Club is affiliated with the Victorian Veteran Cycling Council (VVCC) and caters for veteran aged racing. Age for membership is 30 years and over for females and 35 years and over for males. These ages are taken from Jan 1st in the year of a riders birth date. There are currently ten affiliated clubs in Victoria with membership in excess of 1000 riders. The Hume Vets have a current membership of 70. We meet to race every second Sunday on a range of courses including, Benalla, Dookie, Glenrowan, Kialla (Shepparton), Thoona, Tungamah, Violet Town & Wilby.
Races are mainly handicapped events to cater for all levels of ability and thus giving everyone an equal chance of success.
Our races commence at 10am and most are finished by 11.45am.
During the summer's three months (December - February), start time is 9am.
